Shoe Art

The pair of Pointe shoes I was working on are now complete. Background has been added and I wanted a soft marbled type of effect.
This drawing has been a nice change from fur and feathers. I am pleased that the shoes show wear and tear and hopefully conveys the hard work that goes into the beautiful art of ballet. I have sewn ribbons on so many pairs of slippers (I even added some little stitches around the bottom of the ribbon) and Pointe shoes that I have lost count.....pricked a lot of fingers darning toes and tried to figure out how to get the stain of bloodied toes out of satin before the next performance.
So I felt like I was drawing an old friend lol!
Anyway enough waffle.....the end result!
Can you see the ribbon stitches?
Enjoy day.
