Opening Night

I am a little late with this post but here we are. Opening night was a week ago now and I know I am completely biased but the artworks are beautiful.
My friend Robyn was there as her hubby is a local councillor and opened our show. As was my other friend Jan but she avoided the camera.
Terrible photo but lovely catchup.
Yours truly next my pieces shot for posterity.

I felt very humbled being in such amazing company. It was a wonderful turn out for the opening and the gallery always does a fantastic job.
I  have been there off and on doing a little drawing of late....such a nice space.
Some pics of the gallery.
Being a Roma girl....lots of Bottle trees.....I love this sculpture.

I also adore the little birds in the tree....
As I said a lovely space. ....
My "duckie" got a fair bit of work and is coming along nicely.
If you get the chance to pop in and have a look you won't be sorry.

Exhibition Time

The Queensland Wildlife Artist's Society has been  granted an annual exhibition now at the Logan Art Gallery. The exhibition opens on Friday night and it will run until the 28th April.....PLEASE NOTE the Gallery is closed Sundays and Mondays!

I will be there for a chat and some demonstrating at different times throughout the exhibition. I have 2 pieces in the exhibition.
"Heir Apparent "
And "On a Clear Day"
I am really pleased with how they look all framed up now.
So if you love art and wildlife pop by for a visit......you will enjoy seeing it.
On a current note, my dear duck is challenging me in all kinds of ways. The creek water......oh boy! I have not attempted water before....except raindrops which are different. Thank goodness I have a wonderful mentor in Sandra to urge me on and advise me.....progress this week....
Well at least I am practising being patient and working the grey cells with this piece.
Are you someone who says....someday I am going to try that! Well......
If you ever wanted to be creative......DO NOT WAIT.......begin now! SOMEDAY has arrived!

Just Doodling About

Not a lot to share by way of finishes with you at the moment. I am working away on my Duck and  it's proving very time consuming.....lost in all  those reeds at the moment lol!
I have been working out a few ideas by doodling in my art journal.....

Also, I have been working hard to get to know my Pan Pastels a lot better. Don't they look pretty!
I particularly like them for some of my backgrounds. But I have been very timid in using them.....slowly that is changing. This is a demonstration piece I will need shortly and I wanted to get it to a certain stage so I only need to take my pencils with me.
You can see that a version of  my journal Kookaburra try out has ended up in this piece. Another rusty gate snap has been included too....this one from Lightning Ridge in New South Wales .....don't know why I fancy rusty things and old wooden fence posts so much.....but I do!
A journal is such a useful tool and ends up a great reference source too.
